Junior Counselor Position Summary

Junior Counselors help counselors, coaches, and camp staff make Triple Springs a positive, fun, and safe environment in exchange for discounted camp tuition. Junior Counselors assist Senior Counselors in providing a positive, engaging, and enjoyable camp environment. Junior Counselors will act as role models for campers, while learning and developing their own leadership, creativity, and gymnastics skills. 


Junior Counselors will be assigned a cabin with younger campers and a Senior Counselor. They will have scheduled time in the gym for gymnastics, outside for camp activities, and inside for crafts and cabin activities.


  • Model and reinforce camp appropriate behavior with campers. 

  • Assist campers with camp and cabin activities.

  • Help Senior Counselors in gathering and preparing materials for the day. 

  • Lead campers in games and warm-ups. 

  • Be a listening ear and keep the Senior Counselors informed. 

  • Help Senior Counselors to supervise campers during transition times, such as when traveling between camp areas, walking to restrooms, during meal times, between activities, and when refilling water bottles. 

  • Assist in cleaning up during and after activities, crafts, and meals, wiping off tables, picking up scraps from the floor, putting crayons/markers back in boxes, etc. and reminding campers to assist in clean-up.


  • Be a positive representative of Triple Springs Gymnastics Camp in what you say and do. 

  • Uphold by your actions, behaviors, and speech the mission and vision of Triple Springs Gymnastics Camp. 

  • Follow, abide by, and obey all policies and program guidelines, including complying with safety regulations, the camp dress code, and being on time for your scheduled duties. 

  • Be a role-model for all and support your Senior Counselor in their expectations for campers. 

  • Respect confidentiality of sensitive information. 

  • Ask for assistance, help, or guidance as needed from Counselors, Coaches, and Administrators.


  • Must be 16 years old before the camp with which you are helping. If you are 18, you must pass a background check and safety course.

  • Junior Counselors are compensated with discounted camp tuition
